There are ALOT of gift guides out there. I’ll keep mine brief but thorough. Today’s is Kid Gifts. I will publish Grown Up Gifts on 11/27 and General Black Friday/Cyber Monday Ideas on 11/29. And then I will stop sending you emails about gifts :)
Kids love gadgets. The Holidays are a popular time to gift tech. Here are my top picks for safe tech. Please feel free to share these!
Audio & Analog
The Mighty. I love this thing. I gave one to my son this summer so he could go for a run with music. I also quickly realized it's a great way to get his playlists off my Spotify Account.

Overearbuds. My kids can’t keep earbuds in their ears from some odd reason but these totally work!
A headphone splitter. If your kids want to watch a movie or listen to an audiobook in the back of the car while you roadtrip to grandma’s–this allows them to watch or listen together!
We’ve been encouraging our kids, who share a room, to read more. This reading light has helped..especially if one wants to read and the other wants to sleep.
Devices
If your kid is asking for a phone or a watch for the holidays, here are solutions I recommend
2 Way Communicator With GPS. If you don’t want to give a phone or a watch, but you do want to give a device that lets you stay in touch and track whereabouts–consider The BoT. It has two way voicemail + GPS tracking. I think the design is pretty cool and so did my son. Buy yours here
First Watch. Smartwatches are a great option for older elementary school kids when you want to give a little independence. My favorite is the Gabb Watch - it has strong parental controls and can allow texting with other kids, when parents are ready. Purchase from Gabb here & use promo code DIGITALMOM for an extra discount.
First Phone. We gave the Pinwheel Phone to our Middle Schooler and are very happy with it. This parent managed phone has no internet, no app store, you can wait to turn on group chat, you can monitor chat, and you add specific apps when you decide they’re ready (rather than fielding constant app store requests from your child). Buy it here
The Wisephone- This one has no parental controls but also no internet and no apps. The design is super cool. A good choice for an older kid who wants less smartphone in their life. Use Promo Code DIGITALMOM for $50 off the Wisephone II which ships in time for the holidays. Purchase here.

A Cell phone lanyard. This is for boys whose giant phones don’t fit in their athletic shorts. Anyone else get this complaint from their kids? Buy it here.
Sarah, this is great and the first gift guide I've actually read in its entirety! Very helpful. Thank you!
